The company ORTEN was honoured with the title of "Gazela Biznesu 2002" ("Business Gazelle 2002"). Every year the most dynamically developing small and medium enterprises receive this title awarded by the daily newspaper "Puls Biznesu" ("Business Pulse"). ORTEN was 23rd in this ranking. The statues and certificates of "Business Gazelles" were given on a gala event on 4.02.2003 in the Central Textile Museum - ul. Piotrkowska 282 (Piotrkowska street 282) in d. The ceremony was led by Katarzyna Dowbor, a popular TV presenter. The awards were distributed by the President of the City of d, Mr Jerzy Kropiwnicki, and the provincial governor of d, Mr Krzysztof Makowski, in the presence of the editor-in-chief of "Puls Biznesu", Mr Andrzej Nierycho. The ceremony was animated by a renown violin quartet from Pozna. At the conference held before the ceremony the participants were discussing their plans for this year of support programmes as well as payment gridlock prevention, capital raising, telecommunication services and group insurance in a company.

The president of ORTEN, Mr Andrzej Tybulczuk, received the certificate of "Business Gazelle" from the president Kropiwnicki. In his speech Mr. Kropiwnicki wished everyone an intensive development of their companies and reaching a status of a giant enterprise. After the gala, a ceremonial banquet was held, which gave the participants many opportunities for business meetings and discussions.

 Elektroinstalator 4/2002 – “A strong group dedicated to INTER-ELEKTRO” 2002.04
The INTER-ELEKTRO Distribution Group was created in 1998. At the beginning it was formed by six wholesale companies: ELEKTRO-INSTAL, ELEKTRON, ELEKTRYK, GRODNO and POLAMP. After three years there were already nineteen companies in the group. The goal of the association is to improve the market strategy and the situation on the market compared to that of independent competitors. The main advantage of co-operation is (and has always been) buying large quantities from producers. It is a considerable asset, convenient for both sides and impossible to reach for a single wholesale company. Thanks to the co-operation relatively advantageous conditions could be set. After a short time it became evident that this way was the right one. Every year, joint purchase almost doubled, reaching 130 millions zďż˝ in 2001. Each company has its own logistics and transport base. The customer can receive his purchase from the distributor or directly from the producer. All customers can participate in special offers organised by the group. If they make a big enough purchase within three months, they will receive a greater discount and an extension of the payment deadline in the next period. New wholesale companies can join the group after having received a positive opinion from the board and a decision of all group members taken through voting. However, there is a rule saying that each company from the group has a right to veto the candidature of a new distributor in fear of potential competition in its area.

At the meeting in Jadwiďż˝no another company joined the group – ELMET from Warsaw.

Financial results were summed up and an assortment statistics was created. New organisation arrangements were made and a common strategy of future activities was discussed. Two production companies used the presence of a large group of wholesale representatives and presented their commercial offer. These companies were ELTRIM (producer of cables and wiring) and ETI-POLAM (producer of electrotechnical equipment).

During the ceremonial evening banquet the representatives of the companies received awards in following categories:
the best company – MULTIMAT from Nowy Sďż˝cz and ELHURT from Warsaw
the best payer – LUXI from dďż˝ and MAKRO from Cracow
the best storehouse – GRODNO from Michaw
the best seat – ORTEN from dďż˝

Symbolic stimulating “awards” in form of a whip were given to the companies: AKMA, KAJ, ELEKTRON and ORTEN.

Emil Paterka from ELEKTRO-INSTAL was chosen the friendliest owner, while Alicja Ponka from AKMA was chosen the friendliest salesman.

An invited cabaret animated the evening and amused the participants.

The meeting in Jadwino lasted three days. The president of ELHURT, Mr Dariusz Szydowski, thinks that his strategy is the right one. He claims that the consolidation of members increased and the fact that for three years no company has left the group nor has been excluded corroborates the success. He considers such meetings combining work and entertainment are needed and he plans to organise them in the future as well.

Elektroinstalator 12/2002 – “New seat of ORTEN” 2001.12
An opening ceremony of the new seat of wholesale company ORTEN took place on 25.10.2001 in Łódź. ORTEN is a renowned company both on Polish and international market. Its new seat is situated in ul. Wysoka 9 (Wysoka street 9), near the Electricity Board Łódź-City. It is only 1300 metres far from the main street in Łódź – Piotrkowska. The new facility has a surface of about 3000 m2, which is used for storehouses, offices and an exhibition hall of more than 800 m2. It is very modern and meets the needs of the company for the next years.

The deputy major of Łódź, Mr Krzysztof Jagiełło, together with both company owners performed the ceremonial ribbon cutting. Also many representatives of the Municipal Council, University of Łódź and Technical University of Łódź, Energetic Board of Łódź, Regional Council and journalists were present at the opening ceremony. Moreover, the hosts were graced with the presence of representatives of most renowned companies, such as: LEGRAND FAEL, ABB, GE Lighting i GE Power Controls, ETI POLAM, HAGER, ALSTOM, PAFAL, POLAM SUWAŁKI, FAMOR, ELGO, ELEKTRIM KAVLE, MOELLER, WEIDMÜLLER, PCE, POLO, ISTPOL, EFEN, as well as electric fitters, representatives of the companies co-operating with ORTEN on a regular basis and the directors of the 1st department of KREDYT BANK in Łódź, which financed the building. Among the participants were also representatives of Lithuanian and Slovenian companies and a member of Municipal Council of Wilno, Mr Ryszard Litwinowicz.

The opening of a new company is of great importance not only for the directly interested companies, but also for the city. It brings a dose of optimism in this hard period for our economy. It may contribute to an improvement of the difficult situation and to a decline in unemployment in the region.
